Bobcats are one of only two wild cats native to New England, sharing the region with the far rarer Canada lynx. Secretive and largely nocturnal, they move quietly through forests, wetlands, and rocky ridges, using stealth and patience to ambush rabbits, rodents, and other small prey. Though seldom seen, bobcats are widespread and adaptable, often living surprisingly close to human development while remaining almost invisible.
