Am I totally paranoid? Or is this type
of activity becoming normal?

So I was sitting on the ottoman late the other night in front of the fire trying to keep warm (we live in the US Northeast after all) and watching some animal eat another on Wild America reruns when I started fiddling with my cell phone… In short order I had the battery in my hand and noted that under the word SAMSUNG it said, “Near Field Communications” I had the entire label off the battery in my hand- 30 seconds later and a quick search on duckduckgo. Yup, it was an antenna. Interesting- I don’t use NFC nor do I have any intent of using it. Although the stated range is either 2cm or 2 inches depending on where you read up on it, I still am not inclined to use or trust it, much like the Bluetooth which I only trust at high speeds in rental cars so I can talk and drive. WIFI and the cell tower are bad enough security-wise for the convenience of communications for me. Now, I could go on but I have to drop my new passport in the microwave for 30 seconds before I forget.
